Therapy Services Offered
Talk Therapy
Individual therapy sessions focus on you; your goals, your thoughts, your concerns and your pace. My goal is to provide a brave space for you to open up, discover and flourish in whatever ways you'd like to.
Sessions can be in person or virtual (both phone or video). All sessions are 50 minutes long, unless we've already arranged ahead of time. If you are running late, please let me know. I offer a 10 minute window before considering it a no show. Unfortunately, I'm not able to extend sessions to make up for missed time.
Music Therapy
Music therapy is the clinical use of music by a certified Music Therapist (MTA) within the therapeutic relationship to support development, growth and wellbeing (CAMT, 2020). Sometimes talking is hard, and knowing where to begin or what to say can be a huge barrier. Using music as a way to connect, feel and process can be a vital step in someone's healing. And before you ask, there is no musical experience required. All you need is the desire and willingness to take the first step.

To give you an idea, music therapy can support:
-
Anxiety
-
Identity exploration
-
Relaxation
-
Expression
And so much more. Almost anything you can think of, music therapy can support somehow.

Group Therapy
Group therapy provides a supportive setting for individuals to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. By participating in group sessions, you can gain insights, receive encouragement, and develop coping skills in a collaborative and empathetic environment. These sessions are generally available through contracting services and are offered on a sporadic basis.
Payment
I'm happy to offer various forms payment; we can chat about which is your preferred method when we have set up an initial meeting.

If you find that finances are stressful at various points in our course of treatment, please chat with me and we will come up with a plan. I never want someone to feel that they can't get support because of the capitalistic world we live in.
Cancellation Policy
My cancellation policy requires 24 hours notice to cancel sessions without being charged. This allows me to schedule another person in that spot.
If you are running late, it is important to let me know. I offer a 10 minute window to allow for commuting issues before considering session to be a no show. If you have let me know, we go ahead as planned when you arrive, but there is no guarantee that I will be able to extend the session to make up for the missed time. If you find that you can no longer attend in person but are able to connect via phone or virtual, we can go ahead without a cancellation charge.
Cancellations under 24 hours and no shows will be billed in full.
I understand that life happens. I am always willing to work with you, AND I also need to be respectful of own time and sanity. It's very hectic to try to manage fitting everyone in when there are only so many spots, let alone when there are last minute cancellations. Thank you for respecting my time :)
Limits of Confidentiality
Your privacy and trust are extremely important to me. As a therapist, I belong to several professional associations, which means I must follow several strict Codes of Ethics. Along with professional conduct, it also gives clear instruction on requirements for using technology and storing documentation and your private information. I use programs that are both HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act in the US) and PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act in Canada) compliant.
Everything we discuss in our sessions will be kept between us, with the exception of a few situations regarding safety (which I may have to seek additional support), or the extremely rare occasion that I am legally required to share information. I review LIMITS OF CONFIDENTIALITY with all of my clients before we begin so that we start the collaboration process right from the first few moments together.
